Mission

To create academically and socially competent students ready to embark on lifelong learning.

Philosophy
In the late elementary years, learning should be challenging yet still fun. Often, we see early childhood classrooms that are engaging and dynamic but suddenly, around third grade, many schools and teachers go into "seat work learning" mode. This environmental change often affects children's inspiration and desire to participate. At TNS, we provide a balance between these two extremes. We build self-esteem, independence and a love of learning while still preparing students for the rigors of middle school. We do this by keeping class sizes small and structuring the school where learning matters the most--amongst the students and teachers.

Environment
We believe that a school should provide a structured, engaging and yet nurturing setting.  Our classrooms are happy, positive environments meant to be safe places for both social and academic learning.  Our classes will always be small with no more than fifteen students per class. TNS classes will also allow flexible groupings which make it possible to deliver creative and age appropriate programs that are relevant to the student's strengths and affinities.  We appreciate the uniqueness of each child's developmental stage and learning style and are able to adapt our approach to new material.  This celebration of individual differences is reinforced in our daily interactions creating students who feel valued and competent.
